Italian term

oneri finanziari sul fatturato

Italian to English Bus/Financial Manufacturing annual industry report
This is the heading that appears above a graph. The explanation between the heading and the graph is this: Questo indicatore rappresenta il costo del debito per le Imprese.
In the past, the client translated ***Gli oneri finanziari sul fatturato*** as: Financial charges on turnover. It gets about 1,000 Google hits but mainly from Italian websites.
Is there another way of translating this phrase into English? Thanks in advance.

You're welcome. Ah I see, apologies.

Thanks, Rachael, for your quick reply. Your suggestions appear to be related to transaction charges on the stock market. I think what I'm looking for is the proper way to express the ratio of the cost of debt to sales/turnover.
Rachael Clayton Jun 20, 2019:
There seems to be quite a lot of results on google for 'turnover charges' and 'charges on turnover'.

financial costs of sales

This phrase refers to the administrative and other costs associated with the actual process of selling. "Charges" is not ideal here for "oneri", because it too much suggests that the item (and graph) is primarily about banking and similar fees.
Note from asker:
My thanks to everyone for your suggestions. After receiving additional information from the client, we decided to go with the following: "Ratio of borrowing costs to revenue". I believe "Ratio of finance costs to revenue" would also be acceptable.
Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : I agree with your translation, but not your explanation. It's the cost of financing sales - so, for example, you might borrow money to buy stock, and the interest would be a financial cost

billing finance charges (of BrE turnover/ AmE volume of sales)

It's not financial - but finance charges, as used by (my) UK accountants, nor are they US corporate income/ UK corporation tax 'charges on income'.

Watch the UK turnover vs. US sales volume difference.

Thank you, Adrian. I followed your links but, unfortunately, they do not apply to the situation under discussion. As noted above, the client decided to go with: Ratio of borrowing costs to revenue
