Swedish term

fondmedel

Swedish to English Social Sciences Government / Politics
It is clear what it is - money from foundations - but how to express is simply in English? And in a professional manner -- "money" sounds crass, and "funds from foundations" sounds like 'seven nurses taking care of sick sailors...'

Discussion

Charlesp (asker) Jun 26, 2020:
@ Deane Thanks. I hadn't thought of that. That makes a lot of sense (however as clear, I really don't know, not having any context in the document). So your comment is super helpful!
Deane Goltermann Jun 26, 2020:
@Chris Agree that you can't really tell. But privata fondmedel is something I've seen in wealth management contexts which operate fondandelar that people buy and 'redeem'...this is not foundations. So this could be 'managed private funds'
Charlesp (asker) Jun 26, 2020:
I promise I will try to provide more context in the future.

But I hope that it is not problematic that I post what appears to me to be errors in the drafting of the text in Swedish (i.e. in the source language), to confirm that there is an error in the drafting of the text in Swedish. i.e. invitations to prove me wrong.
Christopher Schröder Jun 26, 2020:
Best avoid these two-word jobs in future then :-)
Charlesp (asker) Jun 26, 2020:
I agree (Without context, it is not at all clear that this is money from foundations...) -- and that's the problem.

Thanks for confirming my feelings about the source text.

Charlesp (asker) Jun 25, 2020:
context? privata fondmedel

(not that that will help any)
Deane Goltermann Jun 25, 2020:
How about the Swe sentence? Some context, maybe.
