évaluation des pratiques professionnelles

Non-PRO French to English Medical Medical (general) University Hospital Cente
Hi,

The evaluation is mentioned throughout the article. For instance:
"La réalisation d'évaluation des pratiques professionnelles (EPP) par un audit clinique permet de mesurer la qualité de nos pratiques et a pour objectif de les uniformiser."

The author translated it as "evaluation of professional practices." I know I am nitpicking but I wanted to double check that this was okay in a hospital setting as I found more hits with "professional practice evaluation" (https://webapps.cap.org/apps/docs/reference/oppe_fppe.pdf) or even "clinical practice assessment."

This is for the US market.

Thanks

Joanna

Nov 18, 2020 16:40: Rachel Fell changed "Level" from "PRO" to "Non-PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (3): philgoddard, Bashiqa, Rachel Fell

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

If it's repeated a lot, the shorter version would be better. Otherwise, I don't think it matters. But definitely not "clinical", which is not what the French says.

I think the literal/author's translation would work just fine.

professional practices evaluation

The work involved in carrying out an evaluation probably involves inspection.
Example sentence:

"The completion of an evaluation of professional practices by a clinical audit (inspection) allows the measurement of quality with the objective of maintaining a uniform consistency."
