This is rather frivilous - a Swedish friend said that if there was a woman on duty at passport control in Stockholm I should greet her with the phrase "Hej hej gholeta". I'm guessing this isn't complimentary and I know I've spelled 'gholeta' wrong as I've made quite an effort to look it up online. Any ideas what the real spelling is and what it means?

"Gullet" means "sweetie", "baby" or "love" in Swedish. It would not be the preferred term of address for female customs officials.

Could this be it? The names Greta, Inga and Ingrid seem to be internationally adopted as truly genuine Swedish female names. (Maybe because all of them are associated to very famous actresses - Garbo, Tidblad and Bergman)

Maybe a little risky to say to the customs personnel, especially if it is a women but it sounds like something someone would say to trick someone else into doing a "blooper".
