Danish term

dansk melon

Danish to English Other Food & Drink
No, apparently it's not the obvious translation. I've found some references in recipes but no pictures so far. Which variety of melon is this in English? If no direct translation, is there a cultivar that resembles this?

netted melon or Galia

My guess is that what is meant is a greenhouse melon grown in Denmark.

Surprising numbers of people can grow them in greenhouses, and the types I have heard of are similar to the netted melons, or possibly Galia and Cantaloup.

I have not been able to find many outlets for commerciallly grown Danish melons, but there might be one here: (Gartneri Toftegård)

Otherwise, Danes do sometimes compare local fruit with more exotic kinds - rosehips with oranges because of the vitamin C content for instance, but I cannot quite imagine what would compare that way with melons.

Thanks, I've had the benefit of that first link already and it's a good one. Your suggestions are good ones as well; I probably will use "Danish-grown melon".

Danish melon

Danish melon, defined as a kind of melon-flavored bread in the link provided below
Note from asker:
Sorry, but this is an actual melon. See http://www.dk-kogebogen.dk/opskrift2/visopskrift.php?id=14441 for an example of its use in a recipe.
