Curried shrimpball, shrimpball with curry-sauce Explanation: With food, translation is very rarely a good option, but with what Kitty's found (http://plazilla.com/oliebollen-of-gambabollen-een-overheerli... we could be pretty sure that there was a typo in the original ('gamber' doesn't exist), but 'gamba' is a Mediterranean sort of shrimp, so there we are, with curry. Another recipe for gambabollen can be found at http://www.thuisvisbakken.nl/recepten/gambabollen/ This with curry is certainly no native Indian food, but seeing that in Europe no Chinese food is actually Chinese, why couldn't one make a curry with Medit. shrimp, pray? Curry is no native British food either, but that's what they like now, more than their native fish-n-chips. Strange enough, all searches at 'kerrie gambabollen' leads to the same site promising curry as well, but it can only be found for 'Inktvis kerrie' at http://www.thuisvisbakken.nl/recepten/inktvis-kerrie/, which, I think is just as well. I couldn't translate 'olieballen' into any other civilized language either, so this should do here too. At http://www.kookfreak.nl/maleisie/inktvisinpittigekerriesaus.... we get a curry-recipe with inkfish too, where 'trassi' is used, which is also a sort of shrimp. Besides, curries aren't usually meals made with curry-powder as in Europe, so don't be flabergasted by the mention of it. |
