agree  Michael Beijer: @Chris: but why do some sources translate "brandwacht" as, "fire watchman" / "fire sentry" (one person) + "fire guard" / "fire watch" (group/department)? E.g., that is what my Jansonius says, and various sources via http://eur-lex // OK!
