Dutch term
bezwaring
Dutch to English
Law/Patents
Law (general)
Articles of Association
This term appears in the sentence:
Het bestuur is niet bevoegd te besluiten tot het aangaan van overeenkomsten tot verkrijging, vervreemding en bezwaring van registergoederen, tenzij het besluit wordt genomen met voorafgaande schriftelijke toestemming van XXXX en XXXX.
So it means to 'financially burden', but is there a better - more legal - term which should be used?
I currently have:
The board is not authorised to decide to enter into agreements to acquire, transfer or financially burden registered goods, unless this decision is taken with prior written consent from XXXX and XXXX.
But there must be a better solution.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, and I will of course award Kudoz points for getting this resolved.

Comment: "Thanks Michael. Encumber didn't seem right to me at first, but your example has helped convince me otherwise."
