When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.
Proposed translations
People are accepted as they are.
(Btw, Van Dale's French and German translations stand for "not to humiliate". Just in case.)

: Without any context, I would go for this. However, HR-speak adds words like 'respect' and 'dignity' in the hope to make things more active. Basically it is about tolerance; live and let live, even if you think they are idiots, etc. My understanding of it.

: Van Dale: iemand in zijn waarde laten = accept someone as he / she is / in the Asker's context, I'd probably go with "People are respected for who they are."

Thanks, Michael. I agree that who is probably the best choice here.

Thanks, Kirsten. With hindsight (on the basis of the additional context provided), I probably would have phrased things a bit differently (because of the reference to 'er is onderling respect').

Employees/people are valued for their ( individual) potential/skills/talents
From your workforce, you should assess individual potential.
When employees know and use their strengths, they are more engaged, perform better,
You must be aware of your employees’ strengths and weaknesses, as well as their business beliefs and personalities.

: This is true in itself, but it does not reflect 'in je waarde laten'. I don't think this is what is meant here, they are talking about employee feedback about the company.//I would leave out refs to skills etc. It's fairly vague 'in je waarde laten'.

so perhaps : People's values (skill/potential) are recognized and respected?

: Verginia, this is idiom, you should not take things literally. ieder in zijn waarde laten --> op niemand iets afdingen = accept everyone as they are.

: I agree with this phrasing, but note the context: this is not a statement by a company about how they treat employees, it is the wording of employees (i.e. feedback) about their company.

Experience suggests that strategies to create and maintain a working environment in which the dignity of employees is respected are most likely to be effective where they are jointly agreed.
