gehechten detainees Explanation: The term gehechten normally seems to be used in the combinations voorlopig gehechten and preventief gehechten only, i.e. referring to suspects/defendants who are detained prior to (and during) trial. The term gehechtengebied usually seems to refer to a self-contained area within police stations or court buildings where suspects/defendants are held in custody (prior to or during trial). I would suggest translating this as custody area (UK) or detainee holding area (US). |
