Hi – gailzhang, do you need a translation suggestion? Or an actual opinion on ‘salary bargain’ tactic for your friend?

I am not sure if it is appropriate to give such advice openly on this site (or if it would be against ProZ’s rule).

Based on my career experience in the U.S. – we always leave the salary part “OPEN”. Find out the job responsibility, and sell one’s best to the potential employer; wait and let them ‘please’ you with an acceptable offer.

The rationale is – whoever open his/her mouth first, will get the short end of the stick.
