Gutt rails are apparently a part of a railway track. In particular this is the case by crossovers etc. I do not have a lot of context.
Fig. 10 shows the support members and gutt rails of Fig. 9.
This figure is a side view of possible/optional gutt rail deflecting means for use with a gutt rail of the turnout.

Any trainspotters out there?
