English term

is the sum-total of evidence for that theory

Non-PRO English to French Art/Literary Archaeology
Although certain other pyramids were built as tombs
(judging from inscriptions within the burial chambers),
there is no indication whatsoever that the Great
Pyramid was meant to be a tomb. The so-called
"sarcophagus" in the "King's Chamber" (so-named by
Egyptologists) is the sum-total of evidence for that theory. Calling it a "sarcophagus" doesn't make it so. It could have had some initiatory function or some other, yet unknown, purpose. No mummies or human remains were ever found in the Great Pyramid. Nor is there any evidence that it was built by Cheops (Khufu) that will stand up under scientific scrutiny.
