colore tinta piatta, quinto colore, colore spot Explanation: si tratta della lastra (separations - il termine tecnico è selezione colore, ma anche separazioni è ormai diffuso) per un colore tinta piatta (anche detto colore spot, o quinto colore; grafici e tipografi lo chiamano spesso anche "pantone" perché è lo stadanrd più diffuso per la definizione dei colori), in aggiunta alle 4 lastre della stampa in quadricromia (cyan, magento, giallo e nero) dal link qui sotto: ------------------- In terms of full color reproduction, a spot color--sometimes called "bump color," describes any additional plate that's created to increase the amount of color in any given area of a print. For example, it's often difficult for screen printers to reproduce the color Red with just process color alone. (Quite often, the color Red prints as either Orange or Pink when printed with straight process color.) To make up for these deficiencies, a printer may request a spot color plate--an extra part of the separation that hits only the Red areas of the artwork. With this in hand, the printer can print a true Red, without compromising the color in other areas of the print. In italiano li ho sentiti chiamare tinte piatte, colori dichiarati, colori di barattolo. In inglese spot colors, special colors. In tedesco Volltonfarbe. Chiamiamoli colori spot. Sono i colori pensati per essere stampati (in stampa offset in separazione di colore, con pellicole e/o lastre) con un inchiostro speciale, in quanto non rientrano nel gamut dei colori di quadricromia (o esacromia) utilizzati su una determinata macchina da stampa.
