Насколько я в теме страхования, данный вид страхования. по сути, комбинация двух: Breakdown Insurance и Recovery Insurance. Почти всегда они идут “рука об руку”, но могут быть и исключения. В Вашем случае, Юрий, это буквально называется Breakdown and Recovery Insurance (может встречаться написание B & R Insurance). Со временем эта конструкция (обычное дело) редуцировалась до BRI. Здесь recovery = эвакуация. Это редукция от auto recovery insurance = “страхование на случай (необходимости) эвакуации транспортного средства”, обездвиженного в результате поломки/неисправности или ДТП. В этом случае страховая возмещает все расходы, связанные с такими манипуляциями (вызов эвакуатора и пр. и пр.) Что касается breakdown, то это в чистом виде = аналог breakdown cover (breakdown insurance) = “страхование на случай неисправности/поломки (аварии; ДТП) на дороге” или “страхование от ущерба в случае поломки или ДТП.
