English term or phrase: (OS)
It's a direction given in a script => "A metallic CLANG (OS) occurs."

Although I have been working in the field for years, it's the very first time I've seen this (OS). Have no clue.

So many thanks!

agree  James Stevens-Arce: OS is a term taken from the theater which has long been used in feature films to indicate that the action takes place off-camera. Sometimes OC (off-camera) is used instead.
