Sé que "expenditure" suele ser "gasto", pero en esta frase no lo termino de ver claro conceptualmente; lo que me falla aquí es conocimiento de la materia. A ver qué os parece. Contexto: norteamericana habla de un país subdesarrollado.

"And this from a government that gets almost 30% of its expenditure from us".

Lo de que recibe un 30 % de sus gastos no lo veo claro, pero ¿es así? ¿O tal vez se podría hablar de inversiones? No hay más contexto.

Yo diría: 'Y esto de un gobierno que recibe de nosotros casi el 30% de sus gastos', o 'de los gastos del presupuesto'.
Pienso que 'inversiones' no corresponde.
