1) oryantal farkı önemli bence de
“I agree that variation by “oriental” is important.”
2) evet, üstelik batıda acaba "belly dancer" derken daha dar kapsamda yalnızca "göbek dansı" mı anlatılıyor bilemiyorum
“Yes, besides, I am not sure if “belly dancer” [I intended to write “belly dance”] would mean only “göbek dansı” in western countries.”
[Because, I am not sure if they differentiate between “oriental dance” and “belly dance”, since, in my opinion, “oriental dance” should have a larger scope than “belly dance - göbek atmak, göbek dansı”.]
please see:

Also, in your reference of “en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belly_dance” it reads:
Belly dance or bellydance is a "Western"-coined name for a traditional "West Asian" dance, especially raqs sharqi (Arabic, (Turkish: Dansöz) It is sometimes also called Middle Eastern dance or Arabic dance in the West.
Here, the term of “Raqs sharqi” means “eastern dance” literally (“raks şarki” in Turkish form: raks: dans, şarki: eastern, oriental). So, “oriental dance” it does not have to be “belly dance - göbek dansı” for me, it might be any form of eastern dancing. This is my conception.
UNFORTUNATELY, we would rarely say something like “göbek dansözü” in Turkish, but rather, more generally, “oryantal dansöz”, or simply “dansöz”, but knowing that we are talking about a belly dancer.

What does Çiftetelli [oyunları] signify to a Turk? Its equivalent in Greek sometimes means a belly dance? |
