I am translating portions of a CNC machine user manual, probably written by a Japanese technical writer. The section that I have trouble understanding can be seen here: http://tinyurl.com/ybwtjo66
In item 2-4, in the column headed “Contents”, it says:
,,Decides whether it is during machining……. . When it is not during……’’
I can’t make out what ‘’it’’ refers to in these two sentences. In my opinion there’s something missing in the two sentences.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

: Yes, as B. D. Finch says above. The original Japanese was most likely 加工中, and "machining is in progress" would be the best translation for that in this case.
