Lorsqu’une alarme intervient le témoin d’alarme commence à clignoter.
Après la reconnaissance de l’alarme de la part de l’opérateur et, si d’autres alarmes n’interviennent pas, le témoin d’alarme devient fixe ou s’éteint selon le demeurer ou moins de l’état d’alarme.
Si une alarme intervient et disparaît, le témoin d’alarme clignotera et le PLC attendra de toute manière la reconnaissance de la part de l’opérateur.

I agree with Katsy's intelligent guess on this one — though clearly neither of us can do better than guess, since the source text is so garbled.
I suspect the writer was trying to say 'selon si l'état d'alarme demeure ou non' (in pidgin FR!)

You should try reading them first, Chris... I've already turned them down! ;-)
And maybe you're too cheap — by setting the bar a bit higher, I am mercifully spared this sort of time-waster. You should consider applying the same surcharge as you would for an illegible hand-written original, say...

Thanks, Phil! Personally, I always prefer to complete 'whether' by 'or not', especially in a case like this where they are describing a binary situation: warning light lit/unlit

This has now gone to client with several notes attached, so thank to to all contributors, close enough to the weekend to say TTFN, Chris.
I'm going with katsy's suggestion and sending a note to client.
This is not the only query in the doc.
I'd eventually come up with depending on the alarm settings, but I think you're nearer to the mark.
