Just an idea - I'm not sure.

A ***specific catalyst*** is used to maintain high hydrogenation activity at low operating temperatures and to completely inhibit the formation of methylcyclopentane (MCP). This combination of unique design and specific catalyst results in a highly efficient, long onstream-time process. In addition to cyclohexane, the unit can be used for producing aliphatic solvents, smokeless jet fuels, and refined lubricants.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you! That was it, although my first impulse was to use 'mass catalyst' which of course makes no sense whatsoever."

mass test of a catalyst

The suggestion is given in spite of the fact the answer for this question has already been accepted. I feel that the adjective massique is governing the noun test and not catalyseur.

I feel the text should have been Test massique d 'un catalyseur (Cr2O3 Mallinckrodt). Otherwise there is no such thing as catalyseur massique. The mass test of a catalyst is required here as we are dealing with a hazardous material. See also:

I suggest that you consult your client or in the event it is not practical, one of your chemistry friends. Mass testing of catalyst is not unknown.

Mass testing should not be understood as bulk testing. Rather the mass of the catalyst that is used in the reaction is ascertained through testing.
