L'effervescence thermique : le point d'équilibre thermique vient d'être décalé vers le haut, entraînant l'action des mécanismes de thérmogénése. Le sujet présente des manifestations caractéristiques de la lutte contre le froid puisque l'organisme est selon lui en hypothermie, sa température corporelle étant inférieure à la nouvelle température de consigne du système thermorégulateur.
Les symptômes sont donc en rapport avec la recherche de chaleur: frissons, mouvements musculaires, pâleur due à la vasoconstriction périphérique. A ceci, s'ajoutent les effets secondaires des médiateurs inflammatoires et contractures musculaires : courbatures, douleurs articulaires et musculaires.
