Discussion

Suzie Withers Sep 6, 2020:
@Michael Liz's reference gives the answer as "iodinated contrast material", which is why I didn't think it fit with my suggestion of intra cisterna magna.

But thank you for clarifying that ICM can be considered to be an intrathecal injection. I am not a medical translator, so that's why I had doubts.
Michael Barnett Sep 6, 2020:
Intrathecal An intrathecal injection is an injection into the cerebrospinal fluid. This can be accomplished by injection into the spinal canal or directly into the subarachnoid space of the brain, including the cisterna magna. There is no problem with Liz's answer.
Suzie Withers Sep 3, 2020:
My link is not about contrast material, it's about a location in the brain where drugs can be administered, the "intra cisterna magna" (ICM). So I don't think it fits with Liz's reference. Salman has posted intra cisterna magna as an answer and is a medical student...

The problem with it is that your source mentions "intrathecal", which is an injection into the spine much further down
Bashiqa (asker) Sep 3, 2020:
@ Suzie This fits in with reference from Liz. I.e. contrast material so they can see what they are doing.
Suzie Withers Sep 3, 2020:
might be helpful? This article mentions ICM in the context of administering drugs into the spinal fluid as "intra cisterna magna", but not sure if this is helpful (this is not a specialist field of mine)

ICM diluent

ICM stands for "intracisterna magna".
Note from asker:
Right answer, wrong reason. ICM = iodinated contrast material

trouble is I don't really know what your text is about
Note from asker:
Hi, So, ICM can be left as is. FYI This is a label for research drug. Instructions d’utilisation/Voie d’administration : Administration prévue pour usage intracisternal uniquement (injection dans la citerne cérébello-médullaire) selon le protocole d’étude et sous la direction du chercheur Presumably the dye is used so that they can see exactly where in the brain they are filling with drug.
Thank you Liz. Have a good weekend, Chris.
