Se trata de un tipo de tecnología que se desarrolló para aviones.

Elle est aujourd´hui généralisée à tous les autres avions, d´autant plus qu´ils sont **longs courriers**, car elle permet de réaliser un gain de masse important.

Entiendo a que se refiere, pero no se me ocurre como traducirlo.

disagree  Ximena P. Aguilar: Lamento discrepar con este término, pero como la misma palabra lo indica, éstos cruzan distancias a través del Atlántico u otro mar , si el contexto está hablando de aviones, me parece que no viene al caso, que se ajusta mejor el termino "transcontinental
