Reserveoffizieranwärter

German to English Other Business/Commerce (general) CV
From a German CV. Appears in the following bullet point:

"Zweijährige Dienstzeit und Ausbildung zum Reserveoffizieranwärter"

I have googled German military websites and the German Ministry of Defence, but the English translations seem to skip this word.

i knew you meant renowned - it just there are some belligerent pedants whom haunt this site, surreptitiously insulting posters who are here, giving their time and knowledge freely, for their own twisted amusement. Sorry, I am feeling stalked. :-)

Stephen, I really think the word here is cadet, how could someone be a candidate for two years? Not sour grapes, I just think it it correct.

I found this term confirmed in an older Collins edition

disagree Kim Metzger : A cadet is a student in a particular training course (usually a school). In the German military system, an officer candidate goes through several years of training in addition to attending a school.

strictly speaking this ought to be addressed to the authors of Collins dictionary where, as I said earlier, I found this term for Anwärter

agree John Dale D.D. : a cadet is not a student at school, I refer you to Oxford and other university cadet training corps. The cadetship is in addition to, not a replacement for, study. Criticism comes easier than craftsmanship.
