Im Eisenbahnwesen wird unter einem Lückenschluss das Herstellen eines durchgehenden Gleises auf einer Neubaustrecke verstanden. Oftmals wird das letzte Gleisstück im Rahmen eines Festaktes von Ehrengästen eingesetzt.
