Απ'ότι ξέρω και το switch και το switcher λέγονται μεταγωγείς.
Το πώς θα το πεις στα αγγλικά εξαρτάται από το κόντεξτ. Το switch είναι hardware, ενώ το switcher είναι software. Θα βρεις αρκετές πηγές που μιλάνε για e-mail switchers (μεταγωγείς ηλεκτρονικών μηνυμάτων), αλλά "ethernet switches".
Και μια που ρωτάς αν το switch είναι το ίδιο με το router, είναι κάτι παρόμοιο, με τη διαφορά ότι το switch λειτουργεί μεταξύ κόμβων, ενώ το router μεταξύ δικτύων.
