Air side: comprende tutte le aree il cui accesso è riservato e può avvenire solo previo controllo della persona e/o di eventuali “bagagli” a mano. Le aree risultano pertanto ad accesso controllato e riservato ai soli autorizzati. In questa accezione risultano air side le aree degli hangar, dei magazzini, ecc. poichè solo personale dipendente-autorizzato può accedervi ma anche l’area dei gate di uscita oppure quella di arrivo poichè per accedervi è necessario il transito attraverso un varco di controllo.
