Discussion

Jennifer White Aug 4, 2020:
obviously errors here but this is standard terminology in degree certificates. Are we expected to do the whole lot for free? In any case, the last sentence doesn't make sense.//Gradus does NOT mean step in this instance.
David Hollywood Aug 3, 2020:
might the "cumma sum" be "summa cum"?

Proposed translations

12 hrs

with all of the privileges, stations, honors, and insignia, and the like, appertaining hereto

Alternative: with all of the privileges, positions, honors, and insignia, and the like, appertaining hereto.
Alternative 2: with all of the privileges, stations, honors, and insignia, and the like, appertaining thereto.
(I think dignatates should be dignitates, which I translate as "stations" or "positions" and I think ushiam should be etiam.)
I translated qua hic as appertaining hereto, or as appertaining thereto (hereto being this diploma, and thereto being the said degree being awarded).
