If the person leads a group doing the real hard stuff, like mountain climbing or other advanced tasks, "mountain leader" is a good term. If it's just a group of people walking in the mountains, then I think "walking group leader" is a more precise term.

Anyway, "fjellfører" is a person leading a (small) group.

agree  Charles Ek: In North American usage, it is usually "mountain guide", sometimes "trip "leader" for milder trips but much more rarely. I've never seen "mountain leader" over here as used in the U.K., in several years of living in mountainous terrain.
