Norwegian term or phrase: alltid dømt til å gi Siciliaballen et realt spark som fyker i tenkt bane
I am struggling to work out whether this is a specific idiom or if I am just misunderstanding the imagery.

The sentence is discussing the area of Calabria, Italy and the Mafia. The full sentense is: 'Sistnevnte med mafiosoer og slavedrivende tomatbønder, for alltid dømt til å gi Siciliaballen et realt spark som fyker i tenkt bane til andre siden av kloden der likesinnede slår ballen tilbake med Guds hånd.'

I am unable to fit the second part of the sentence in to the text field above but any suggestions on the full meaning of the sentence would be much appreciated.
