I agree with "get laid", but the usual question asked in English is "Did you score"? meaning did you pick someone up.

The solution here is dependent on context. If the text is about picking up boys/girls, then \"å få snøret i bånn\" means \"to get laid/to score\". The phrase does however have a more general sense as well, meaning \"to succeed in something\". As Per correctly points out. In common usage, however, I think the phrase is rarely used in the wider sense these days, perhaps for fear that a perfectly innocent matter should be interpreted as having to do with sex.
