Nu ma pot gandi decat la "componente", fiindca e vorba de uzura lor, care trebuie sa fie mai mica decat jumatatea din toleranta admisa. De aceea cred ca e vorba de componentele aparatelor de cale, care trebuie sa fi suferit uzuri minore pentru ca aparatele ce le contin sa poata fi utilizate in situatia respectiva.

wear = a component wasted by use

item = is usually translated as "articol" for quotations and offers.
that's why I think is better in this case to use "component" because is only a part of an item
