Swedish term

bäckenskovel

Swedish to English Medical Medical (general) notes
Anyone know the English for this term please? I've looked at "pelvic paddle" but am having doubts.

Contextual example taken from Google:
Anledningen är ett mycket elastiskt skelett. Eventuellt kan man se kompression av en **bäckenskovel**, vilken spontant kan fjädra ut. Röntgenundersökningen är viktig och bör alltid kompletteras med CT.
Thanks in advance asap

More than a year has passed since these entries, but I happened to stumble across this thread after encountering the very same term, so I thought it might be worth commenting on...
@zebung, the "iliac crest" seems to no more than the edge (or border, as wiki puts it) of the bone in question, which hardly qualifies for anything you would liken to a shovel (sv. skovel)... I'd guess it's the Wing of Ilium (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wing_of_ilium)...

For some reason I can't "answer", but I think it is the iliac crest

Think it may be the "pelvic spade" www.urmc.rochester.edu › Health Encyclopedia. If anyone can confirm from their own knowledge, please put in an answer of course.
