Swedish term

Ad

Swedish to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals Cllinical trials
This term/abbreviation appears along with other preliminary data in regard to a certain clinical trial whose conducting has been approved by the appropriate regional ethical review board. The entity issuing this text has requested permission to make a couple of changes to the investigator's brochure and the informed consent form. Meanwhile, the preliminary infomation at the top of the form includes the following:

Left column:

Name and address of ethical review board

Right column:

Dnr [Reg(istration) No.] - XXXX-XX

???Ad - XXXX-XX

Betalt [Paid] - (date) (XXXX-XX-XX)

Exp - XXXX-XX-XX

What could "Ad" mean? Any clues?

Discussion

Agneta Pallinder Mar 2, 2015:
Numbers So, are the Dnr and Ad numbers in the text cited in the question identical?
George Hopkins Mar 2, 2015:
Personally I always leave home-made abbreviations as they are; possibly with a hint to the client who then has the option of providing a list of definitions.
Cynthia Coan (asker) Mar 1, 2015:
No, not a date The format of the numerals and the numerals themselves are altogether wrong to be a date.
Norskpro Mar 1, 2015:
What do xxxx-xx refer to? A date?
Cynthia Coan (asker) Mar 1, 2015:
Further "Ad" info. I should have mentioned that the same number appearing after the term/abbreviation "Ad" also appears in the first sentence below table data covering the nature of the request, protocol code and title, EudraCT number and name of sponsor. The text of this sentence, when translated, reads as follows:

"This clinical trial was approved by the regional ethical review board in [name of region] in a letter dated [dd month yyyy], with your reference number XXXX-XX." (Same as "Ad" number.)
