Native language: Dutch & English. PhD in Communication, Media and Cultural studies. HBO Civil Engineering and Translation Studies.

My translation work started by proofreading essays, dissertations and academic papers in English, eventually translating them from and to Dutch for publication purposes in academic journals.
I also have experience in literary translation and the process of analysing and transcreating texts to localise them. Working for the largest Dutch Translation Agency as a project manager and in-house reviewer, dealing with the EC and the Ministry of Justice as my main client.
This has given me a lot of valuable experience in a wide variety of fields, including CAT tools, DTP work and handling large projects.

I currently work as an information manager for a Civil Engineering company.

Rates:

I translate for 7 eurocents per word depending on the type of text.
I proofread for 20GBP per hour, or 2 eurocents per word.
