Bio
My name is Catharina Odencrants. I am a professional Swedish translator, translating from English, Italian and French into Swedish.
I mainly work with marketing, human resources, IT, fashion, education, EU and medicine, but I am also very interested in literature translation. My Master thesis was on graphic novels and comics translation, focusing on the correlation between picture and text, a subject which has proven to be very useful in marketing translation as well. Since 2013 I translate the Italian comic book Dylan Dog for Ades Media.
At the moment I live in central Gothenburg, but before moving back to Sweden I lived almost 5 years in Florence, Italy, and 1 1/2 years in London. I still travel frequently to both Italy and the UK, and I try to read as much as I can in both languages – everything from literature to fashion magazines – to keep up the everyday language, which is “importantissimo” for both marketing and literature translation.
