I’m a full-time translator with 17 years’ experience working for clients mainly in the market research sector. This specialization has enabled me to span a very wide range of subject areas (including advertising, medical, IT/technological, automotive, nutritional and recreational) and language styles, from detailed professional reports and analyses to creative writing and colloquial speech.
In addition to my market research work, I also periodically translate for clients in the surveying, legal and engineering sectors.
For all types of translation, my working principles are:
rendering the original text fully, accurately and faithfully (in content and tone) into an English that flows naturally and is appropriate for the context, specialist or otherwise;
approaching every project from the client’s viewpoint, establishing a close working relationship and guaranteeing 100% reliability in meeting deadlines.
The fact that I’ve previously worked for several years in a translation-commissioning role in the UK and Italy has helped me to cultivate an awareness of the working process that each translation is a part of. For several longstanding clients, this enables me to give real added value by acting as both translator and proofreader of the original text, providing a final quality control filter before delivery or publication.
I lived in Italy (Rome and Umbria) for 22 years, returning to the UK in 2012. I now live in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, but remain close to the Italian language and context through my Italian wife, two bilingual children and a wide array of relatives, friends, clients and colleagues back in Italy.
