Source text - Portuguese Unir ciência e tecnologia em prol da conservação. Esse é o objetivo do Programa de Conservação Muriqui de Minas (PCMM) ao utilizar drones para estudar, monitorar e salvar da extinção o muriqui-do-norte (Brachyteles hypoxanthus), o maior primata das Américas, que existe somente na Mata Atlântica brasileira. O Programa foi iniciado em setembro de 2016 e tem duração de 4 anos. De acordo com Fabiano Melo, coordenador do projeto e professor da Universidade Federal de Goiás e membro da Rede de Especialistas em Conservação da Natureza, ao longo de um ano e meio eles conseguiram avançar em duas linhas de pesquisa. A primeira foi a elaboração do drone, um hexacóptero S900 da DJI apelidado de “Dronequi”, e do software Murilabs, ambos desenvolvidos juntamente com a empresa Storm Security. “O Dronequi vai ajudar a localizar os muriquis em áreas de mata onde há maior dificuldade de encontro dos animais. Nele foi instalada uma caixa com duas câmeras, sendo uma termal da marca Flir e uma GoPro Hero4 colorida de alta resolução. As duas câmeras ficam juntas nessa caixa, enquanto um gimbal, o suporte abaixo do drone que normalmente leva uma câmera, leva essa caixa, movimentando as duas câmeras simultaneamente. Essa movimentação permite que filmemos não só em UHD mas também que captemos imagens termais.
Translation - English Uniting Science and Technology for conservation. This is the goal of the Muriqui Conservation Program of Minas Gerais when using drones to study, monitor and save the Northern muriqui (Brachyteles hypoxanthus) from extinction. The muriqui is the largest primate of the Americas and it only exists in the Brazilian Atlantic forest. The program was launched in September 2016 and lasts 4 years. According to Fabiano Melo, project coordinator, professor of the Federal University of Goias and a member of the Nature Conservation Specialists Network, after 18 months of work it was possible to advance in two segments of research. The first research led to the creation of the DJI's S900 hexacopter drone, nicknamed "Dronequi", and of the Murilabs software, both developed by Storm Security. "The Dronequi will help locate the muriquis in forest areas where it is harder to find animals. It carries a box with a Flir thermal camera and a GoPro Hero4 high resolution color camera. The two cameras are put together in this box while a gimbal - the support beneath the drone that usually holds a camera - carries that box, moving the two cameras simultaneously. Such movement allows not only UHD recording but also filming thermal images.

Source text - English Jalal is an Iraqi telecoms executive with fluent English and a Harvard degree. His wife is a surgeon. Well-off by any standards, they have always loved to travel, and have a particular fondness for Lake Como in Italy. But their Iraqi citizenship has often caused them visa problems. So, a few years ago, Jalal (not his real name) and his wife applied to become nationals of a second country: Antigua. After ten months of form-filling and “due diligence” (background checks and the like), they ploughed several hundred thousand dollars into property and a development fund on the Caribbean island, and in return got passports which entitle them to visa-free travel to 130 countries, including most of Europe. They send the citizenship consultant who helped them become Iraqi-Antiguans a card whenever they are in Como, to show their continued gratitude. Francesco Corallo went one better in the Caribbean, for very different reasons. An Italian businessman on an Interpol most-wanted list, he bought himself a diplomatic passport from Dominica and tried to claim diplomatic immunity on the grounds of being the island’s permanent representative to the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation. He is now in custody in St Maarten, a tiny Dutch territory in the Caribbean, facing extradition to Italy on charges of tax evasion and bribing politicians.

Bio
Jenifer Saska is a translator, editor and teacher based in Brazil. She has a decade of experience teaching English and Portuguese. She holds a Master's degree in Literary Studies (2016) from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCAR) and a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics (2013, English/Portuguese) from São Paulo State University (UNESP/FCLAR). While at UNESP she worked as a volunteer English tutor in 2010 and in 2011 she took part in a project from the Modern Letters department that consisted in teaching English at public schools. She also had a scholarship for working in the organization of the Fourth International Walt Whitman Week held in UNESP\FCLAR in 2011. During her Master's she had a scholarship for researching North-American literature and poetry-philosophy relations as well. In 2018 and 2019 she worked on the technical evaluations of over 30 literary books for the PNLD 2018 and 2020 projects related to the Ministry of Education (MEC) in Brazil.
