Bio

Born in Taiwan, I have travelled independently to 70+
countries and lived in English-speaking countries for nearly 20 years. After graduating
and spending the first half of professional career in international trade
(achieving a sales record of 500+ 20/40ft containers of computer cases exported to
Europe), I decided to pursue my life-long ambition: becoming a language
professional. After a year and half of study and exams, I achieved certification
as a healthcare interpreter (national standard in the US).

Recent highlights of my interpretation career include simultaneous
in-booth interpreting at the US-China Energy Efficiency Forum in Denver and assisting
in lengthy negotiations between a European pharmaceutical company and a Chinese
buyer at a Geneva exhibition.

I am naturally curious to learn and always keen to accept
challenges, set targets and achieve them. Just two examples:

§       While living in Sydney, I single-handedly formulated
a fund-raising project for a nursing home where I did volunteer work caring for
the elderly, the AUD8,000 raised being used to purchase much needed extra equipment
and products to increase the comfort of the residents.

§        While living in Colorado, I climbed twenty ‘14ers’
(mountains over 14,000 feet) and hiked 39km and 7000ft vertically across the
entire Grand Canyon in one day. Also ran Pyongyang half-marathon in 2014.
