Bio
Reliable, experienced translator and editor of a broad spectrum of Dutch-authored medical and related texts. Qualified as a Dutch-English translator in 1995, and as a former nurse with 44 years’ experience of working in university hospitals in both Britain and the Netherlands has an unrivalled knowledge of medical terminology and jargon, in both first and second line settings. Specialised in translating clinical medical documents such as patient case notes, surgical reports, medical correspondence, laboratory reports, pathology reports. Also medico-legal documents, expert’s reports, patient information pamphlets and questionnaires, and medical device reports. Other fields of work include back translations, neuropsychological assessments and epidemiological and evidence-based medicine texts. Translation of scientific/medical articles for medical journals. Pharmaceutical experience (forward and back translations of SPC & PIF documents) and medical ethics committee letters. Has also taught scientific writing at university level for a number of years.
