English to Spanish: AIRBORNE PARTICULATE MATTER General field: Science Detailed field: Environment & Ecology
Source text - English Agricultural activities in general and livestock production in particular can emit considerable amounts of particulate matter (PM) to the atmosphere (Takai et al., 1998). Intensive poultry and pig houses are major sources of PM emissions, contributing to about 50%, poultry; and 30%, pigs, of total PM emissions from agriculture in Europe (EMEP-CORINAIR, 2003). The role of PM from livestock production nowadays, is both an issue of scientific interest and of public concern due to its potential health and environmental effects.
