I am French and lived in England for 17 years, after studying English at university. I started my career as a bilingual secretary in London (for 3 years), then a bilingual sub-editor and proofreader (since 1992), then a translator (mainly English to French, since 2012). My specialist subjects are cars, forklift trucks and international development aid, but I have also translated rocket science publications, classical music articles, tourist brochures and old master painting catalogues.
I am very conscientious and meticulous, with an emphasis on correct spelling, typography and punctuation. Consequently I am a fairly slow translator, but a very accurate one and an efficient proofreader. |
