Data back up challanges Jul 13

Keeping the data on some online drive is a good option. I keep the data there to some extent but a lot of data is just kept in the computer and I also rely on my old emails. Now emails are also going to be on charge-basis as the space is getting filled. Just looking for some way which is easy to use and I do not have to pay for that regularly.

Easy, safe (no hacker will ever have access to it), and always available in case of a computer crash.

External hard drive Jul 14

I have a 5 TB USB hard drive for backups, which remains completely detached from my PC and network when not actively in use to back up files.
Never in my life would it occur to me to back up confidential customer data in a cloud and in fact, I have several contracts and NDAs forbidding me from doing so.

I have separate back ups (differential and otherwise) on three external hard drives, with some important data on pen drives, on two cloud drives, and my most precious data on a CD at a friend's house. I've also started creating printed albums for my photos.

External hard drive + USB key Jul 14

I do a full back up at the end of each month on a portable hard drive. I save my work constantly throughout the day, and if I am dealing with a big project, I save it on my computer and on an USB key. Occasionally I also do it via e-mail, by sending the translation I’m working on to myself.
