Happens the other way around as well, no issue if you have reliable mutual customers

Negotiate/Offer a discount Jan 20

If I misquoted for a job in the client's favour, I would contact the client to negotiate the conditions and explain why I should resubmit the quote. Eventually I would grant him a small discount.

It depends Jan 20

If it's a long standing client and my misquote is only a small amount, then I will honor the initial quote. After all, it was my mistake, not the client's.

If it's a new client or a not so regular one and/or we're talking about a larger amount, I will resubmit my quote.

My take Jan 20

... It's never happened to me, but I guess it would depend on the relationship I have with the client.
If it's a long-standing relationship built on mutual trust, I would have no problems in going back to the client and letting it know my mistake. On the other hand, with a new customer I would let it know that my quote was wrong, but stick to said quote and apply the right quote to future assignments.
