Serbian term
vit. (abbreviation in a Birth Certificate)
Serbian to English
Law/Patents
Hi,
I have a birth certificate and it is in Albanian and Serbian languages. Almost at the end it reads:
"birthdate, birthplace and municipality where born" and it gives the date and this abbreviation (vit.), which I do not understand. Thank you for your time,
Monika
So it looks like this: 12/31/88 vit.
What do they mean by "vit."

year
Are you sure it is in Serbian? Because in Albanian 'vit' means 'year' (and it isn't abbreviation, it's full noun)

Comment: "Thanks for your answer, but I am sure that this abr. was not the Alb. word "vit", which means year, because it did not make sense in that sentence and it was written where the birthplace and municipality name was supposed to be. Thanks for your time though :)
Monika"
