Finnish term

katalysoimana

Finnish to English Tech/Engineering Metallurgy / Casting
Tällainen fotokatalyyttinen pinta on itse puhdistuva pinta, eli fotokatalyyttmen materiaali hajottaa työkappaleen ja optisen tuotteen pinnalle joutuneet orgaaniset epäpuhtaudet _valon UV-säteilyn katalysoimana_

The underlined part is causing me doubts as to its translation.

A third infinitive in the essive, how best to tackle it?

I think the sentence structure has to change quite a bit in order for the UV light to be catalyzing the reaction, rather than the surface or the impurities. How about

This type of photocatalytic surface is self-cleaning, that is, organic impurities... are degraded by the photocatalytic material with catalysis by UV light radiation.

Thank you.
agree Timo Lehtilä : a direct translation might be "by UV radiation [component] of light", but ther may be eithter 'valo' or 'säteily' superfluous in the Finnish text.

Thank you. I agree that "light radiation" is redundant, Timo's suggestion or else just "UV radiation" on its own is better.

I know that, but could you please provide a suggestion as to tackle the translation of the underlined part. Thank you.
