French term or phrase: depuis son image
Et depuis son image de cinéma, Eastwood n’en finit pas de se préparer à sa mort, dit qu’il est déjà mort, déjà mort parce que viendra inévitablement un temps où ses films seront vus sans lui.

This is a general discussion one so apologies. What does depuis son image as 'since his image' would not make sense in English.

depuis son image
from his movie picture

Explanation:
I think it refers to Eastwood's point of view, not only as a movie director, but also as an actor and a character. Eastwood, the actor anddirector watches Eastwood, the character, and vice-versa. I'm not sure, it's just an interpretation.

As to his on-screen image/presence

Explanation:
I'm thinking it's more about his appearing in his films than his visions, because why would he want his film company's visions to die just because he could no longer act in them? He wants his visions to carry on but wants people to get used to his films without him starring in them.
