land surveyor / land surveyors practice

Not a government "Survey Office", but a private practice. It is necessary to include the word "land", as there are various types of surveyor e.g. marine surveyors, building surveyors, housing surveyors etc.

"Land surveyors are the people who plot, measure and record the details of the land, using previous maps as well as creating their own, so as to advise planning and construction. They also help to uncover any queries into measurements and details of the land, as well as disputes over allocations."

"One of the primary roles of the land surveyor is to find the boundary of a person's property."

"GRAHAM READ CONSULTANTS is a small professional Land Surveyors practice providing services related to all aspects of land subdivision and development ..."

agree Sean Sheahan : right distinction - even 'professional land surveyor' s'times used to distinguish between State and private practice

Thanks Sean.. I think the word "professional" is (or should be) superfluous; it doesn't distinguish state and private practice: both are professional.
agree Clive Phillips : Spot on.

Thanks Clive
agree Nikki Scott-Despaigne : Land Surveyor(s), Firm of Land Surveyors, etc. as topographical, "land surveyor" is a necessary distinction. "Professional" is superfluous ; local gvt do also employ land surveyors who have the same qualification as those in private practice, both pro.

topographical office

Peer comment(s):

neutral Nikki Scott-Despaigne : I don't know if the term is used but it should be "Topography Office" and not "topographical" as it refers to the discipline, not the state of the office. Further the site in reference is non-native English, with errors of tense, article and vocabulary.
