Danish term
tripplevæske

Medical
Medical (general)
fluid drop when patient is not eating
The patient is in hospital with an infection and is not eating or taking medication, so other treatments are necessary.
There are urinary problems as well.
My context is
cont. Tripplevæske 2000 ml pr. døgn
Another day the patient is to have
1 litre trippel, udover 1 liter saltvand
This is some kind of drop, I'm guessing with three components, but would be grateful for any explanation of precisely what.

triple antibiotic therapy intravenously
From the link:
"Give triple antibiotic therapy intravenously, providing
aerobic, gram negative and anaerobic coverage: For example, ampicillin 2 g IV every hours plus gentamicin 5 mg/kg body weight IV every 24 hours plus metronidazole 500 mg IV every 8 hours."
It's quite possible there's something else in the bag, so don't stake your life or the patient's on this suggestion. ;-)

Note from asker:
Thanks, this sounds very plausible. It does at least give me something to start checking. I have not got the complete records from the first days of hospitalization, so there may have been more detail in those sections. |

Comment: "Thanks, I used this.
As I worked through the details, there were several references to antibiotic therapy which linked up with it."
